Camera: Pentax K10D. Chateau Laurier, Ottawa, ON.

The Chateau Laurier is one of the historic chain of hotels that was once owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Typically, the CPR would build a fancy hotel across from their train stations. The Chateau Laurier is right across from Union Station in Ottawa. Other famous examples from their chain are the Royal York in Toronto, and the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City. Often the Chateau Laurier is mistaken from the Parliament Buildings by tourists, since it is across the canal from them, and shares the same distinctive copper roofing.
