Bathurst Car

Camera: Pentax Spotmatic. Halton County Radial Railway, Rockwood, ON.

This was the car that Allan and I rode out to Rockwood Station. It was my first time riding in a Peter Witt streetcar. As attractive as they are (these are classics, in my books), the tend to ride like lumber cars in comparison to modern standards. Mind you, suspension was a rather rudimentary concept when these vehicles were designed. Nonetheless, these cars had great longevity. The last of these were retired from regular service in Toronto around 1970. New Orleans continues to use this model of car. At least their workmanship isn't in doubt.
