Camera: Pentax Spotmatic. Rideau Canal, Ottawa, ON.

As we head tentatively towards spring, I thought I'd share some of the last few winter shots I've been developing. By the end of the week, I should be posting prints from film I've shot in the last few days, as winter has receded somewhat.

The first offering is a shot of the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. During the winter months, the canal is drained to become the longest skateway in the world, at approximately 6.5 km. During the first two weeks of February, there is also the Winterlude Festival, which is centered around the canal. I'm not personally a fan of skating and the cold, but it's a rare instance where Canadians actually seem to embrace and enjoy winter.
