December 14, 2005 - The Good Old Days Weren't Always Perfect...

Camera: Canon Powershot A60. Garages along Dundas Street East, east of Jones Avenue.

Although these garages provide colourful relief on a grey winter day, they show that even in the good old days, urban planners were prone to mistakes, and that it wasn't all perfect. These garages face out onto Dundas Street East, a major thoroughfare in Toronto. However, one possibility for creating a lively streetscape would be to allow granny flats that face the street to be built on top of the garages, and even provide provision for the garages themselves to be converted to small-scale retail/commercial uses.
